Palimpsest of Beds
, 2025, oil on canvas, 103,5 × 167 cm“Palimpsest of Beds” explores my identity, past and present, through my relationship with the bed. The bed has been my place of rest, trauma, unsafety and rot. In the painting, an innocent-looking character clutches their pillow, looking small, and curiously eyeing the viewer. Another, much bigger but quieter character watches us from their position hiding under the bed. Overseeing this scenery is another, more abstract character, that seems to clutch some kind of visceral core. From the window, a phallic-looking being sneaks in.
